OPINION ESSAY - Daniel Piqué

               OPINION ESSAY

Studies show that television is such a powerful influence in the development of teenage behaviour and their related moral principles.

Nowadays, it is generally agreed that teenagers have absolute access to several TV programmes that maybe aren’t the most appropriate to their ages. Personally, I strongly believe that the current fighting behaviour which teenagers have may be caused because of the contact they have with the shows on the TV schedule. For instance, we just need to take a look at the USA and their endless scenarios of weapon-carrying in schools.

Furthermore, I think that the number of teenagers who misbehave is increasing with no limit. One consequence of this could be that they are becoming insensitive and uncaring. Unless the content shown on TV changes, the situation won’t improve, causing a detrimental effect on youngsters.

To sum up, it is clear to me that the larger part of the young population wouldn’t have this problem if these programmes didn’t exist.
